This upright freezer had ice blocking the evaporator. I cleared ice and tested the defrost components ie heater, thermal fuse, ntc. All of these seemed ok but one of the connection plug which seems to be a drain heater was giving a reading of around 2400 ohlms. Now if my calculations are correct this would make it a 25w heater. Is this correct or is this heater faulty and high resistance? Or even a ntc. its hard to see because the wires to this heater are sunk into the insulation of the evaporator tray and looks like the whole tray needs replacing. When I looked on BSH parts it only lists a defrost heater, which is the evaporator one. The bottom evaporator tray is described as a “Salver” and doesn’t show any heater although at £112 I thought maybe it has a heater.
So basically I tested the evaporator heater, 2 x ntc’s and a thermal fuse which we’re ok. It’s just this last one I’m not sure about.

    Any Help Please

    Thanks
