After suffering from the unreliability (and hefty call-out / parts charges) of a Miele Washer Dryer, I think it’s time to bite the bullet and go separates!

The only snag is that the one space in the kitchen a dryer could fit has a mess of stopcocks and pipes behind it reducing the available depth.

Any recommendations for a reliable and easy to repair condensing dryer, whose bulk is a little shallower in depth than standard, ideally 550mm or so. Jutting out control knobs etc. aren’t an issue, it’s just that SWMBO doesn’t want the main body sticking out proud of the surrounding cupboards.

    Thanks – Rufus.

    Hi Rufus

The only one I can find is the Beko DC7110W condenser dryer which is 560mm deep.

Not the best quality I know but your criteria is going to make it Hobsons choice I’m afraid unless you can move some pipework.

    HTH 😀

Thanks for the quick response with useful info.

As you say Beko is not the best of makes but as the price of the whole machine is less than Miele would charge for a call out with small part supplied and fitted, there probably isn’t too much to lose! Though the Beko is possibly not one to trust to leave running unattended!

I wouldn’t leave any tumble dryer running unattended 😉
