Hello, just stumbled upon this site whilst looking for an answer – hope someone here can help me!

We have a built in Electrolux esl43010 which up until today has always worked fine. The flat we’re in is 3 years old and the dishwasher was installed when the flat was built so it too, is 3 years old.
I’ve only lived here for a few months and sure enough, my partner is away at the minute and I’m here for the first time on my own – and the bloody thing’s broken! (Which I will surely get the blame for if it cannot be fixed before he returns on Monday! 🙁 ).
The on/off button works (the little red light turns on and off) but it will not change programs and so when I close the door it will not start… It worked fine yesterday.
I’ll attach a picture (not sure if that would help…)

The light is where it always is when turned on, to get onto that program you need to press the program button and it flashes and then is on the program.
Not sure if it’s the button itself that’s broken or problem with the machine?

Any help would be much appreciated and help me from getting in trouble come Monday 😉

common fault on this range of macines is the door lock

when you close the door does it close with a clunk or does it just shut with no noise or feeling of a latch closing

if door lock gone machine thinks door is closed so will not progamme.
if it has gone, its not your fault, and part is cheap

    hope it helps

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
The door latch feels the same as it always did, same feeling of it closing and locking properly.
Think its something to do with the actual machine itself as it won’t change programs/move the red light along so either something with the machine or the button =/

I’m not at home right now but when I get back just to be sure I will investigate the lock 😉

Ah!! Have just realised it’s not just the dishwasher that’s broken, but the built in oven and hob too… basically the kitchen except the fridge. Fuses to the kitchen are fine and all lights are working too, guess it’s for the landlord to sort out.

dont like to point out the obvious but the light is on the dishwasher so it is not a power problem so wont be affected by your oven problem

All the appliances went down due to a power surge over night apparently, I’ve managed to reset them all now

if you can hear the drain pump the base underneath is probably flooded
