I’ve been to look at a Tricity Bendix Aw1100w washing machine, does wash, distribute, but when it ramps up to spin, motor goes off, does this on both slow & fast spin programme, machine is only a few years old, i’ve checked tacho coil & it reads ok, no visible damage to cables, cleaned armature & checked brushes, belt is tight, took off tacho coil & checked tacho magnet & its tight in shaft, also no cracks in magnet, any ideas?

    Ta in advance.

Have you checked the pressure chamber/hose isn’t clogged?

No problem with pressure system, hose clear, chamber clear, pressure switch is ok, funny thing is this machine is’nt 2 years old yet & only used by a pensioner. The armature was quite black & i cleaned it, brushes are like new (good lenght), but when timer is in spin position it seems to go back & forth o.k, does a distribute, when it builds up to full speed (for a few sec’s) the motor stops, does a distribute again, builds up to full speed stops, does this continueously till timer finishes !
Suspect a duff winding in motor or perhaps a faulty timer, both are gonna be possibly too expensive to repair, just wondering has anyone seen same problem & if it’s something simple to fix, theres gonna be one pleased pensioner out there!

Sounds like an imbalance problem to me…if it does it whilst empty then can only be the module?
Funny….its usually a pensioner trying to wash a very small load (just one or two items). This means there is simply not enough volume of washing to spread around the drum to create a balance.
