KeymasterHelp.
My washer/dryer door won’t open.
It started when i think i interupted a drying cycle (it seemed to be getting too hot).
The warning light was flashing fast after i did this, and the door refused to open.
I tried turning it on and off, waiting for cool down etc, no joy.
The machine will run all its programmes still, tried a quick wash, and quick dry to see if it would reset after, no luck.
tried turning the programme dial to the O reset position, nothing.
The warning light flashes fast at the end for a short while, then starts blinking slowly – which should be the door release moment i think.
but nothing.
does anyone know the way to reset the machine and unlock the door or do i have a mechanical issue?January 18, 2005 at 12:59 am #123888Penguin45

Oh dear,
You’ve picked a good one here – it’s not a Creda at all. As you may be aware, Hotpoint/Creda fell into the hands of Merloni several years ago, and this is the result. Your machine is a re-badged Indesit/Ariston appliance, adapted to be integrated. If you check the forums for the Indesit “W” series machines and Ariston “A”series machines you’ll see what we’re up against here.Firstly, cut the power to the machine. The lock is a simple delay lock, so after two minutes it should unlock…….. If it doesn’t, this may be the root of the problem, and as you suggested – a mechanical problem.
Given that this machine is integrated, I would suggest that you seek professional help – this is a complex appliance and the there are various possibilities as to what is going in on with it.
Check Directories for a UKW engineer in your area, sign into Repairs@ or simply stick your postcode up here and someone will pick up on it.

You’ve probably broken the Door Handle I expect? Is it now a little on the loose side and doesn’t seem to engage? If yes to the above you will need to replaced it (Part No: C00065250 cost about £3.20)
