    Hi all

Been to this machine this morning, customer says it can stop at any point of the cycle, ans then she has to switch off for anything up to 24 hours before it will work again..
Sometimes completes a cycle, sometimes doesent..

Anyway upon inspection the door locks, panel leds light up as normal, but when any function is selected thats as far as it goes, i suspect a faulty interlock at the moment, but also noticed this damage to the mains suppressor and associated connector… Anyone know if this is a common problem with these machine, and would it cause the described fault..?

Also does anyone know how you view the bulletins on Connect, as there is one associated with the interlock for this machine

    Any help apprciated

Oh almost forgot, cant find a mains lead assembly for this on connect!

    Martin

    Thanks
    Martin

Looks a lot different, but i assume its a direct replacement for the older versuon?

A burnt out connection like that could cause the machine to stop – what happens is that as you draw more power through it the high resistance of the connection causes it to heat up at which point it expands and breaks contact (or in your case I suspect that it is driving the resistance so high that the board ceases to get enough voltage to run anything other than the low voltage LEDs).

P.S. That particular mains lead is C00203264

There are a couple of different mains filters used, the later square one is a direct replacement.

    Hi

I am going back to this machine on thursday to fit the new mains lead.
I have also ordered a new interlock as the old one is taking a long time to unlatch (there are no blockages in pressure vessel)

Have ordered this lock from connect

    https://connections.connect-distributio … RC00085194

It comes with a installation sheet, which advises you to cut off a tab and also reverse the plug 180 degrees

The new lock is marked as a metaflex and its white

Question is does this need the tab cut off and 189 degree reverse..
As it mentions that this is needed if its manufactured by “rold”

I assume its a “rold” as its white, but then again its made by Metaflex…

Can some kind soul confirm which connections are correct, as i dont want to blow the PCB

    Thanks

PM me an e-mail address and I will send you a copy of Qualtex’s Technical Bulletin which shows exactly what is required.

    Just a quick update

The mains lead fitted pefectly, as did the interlock without any modification
the brushes were also well and truly worn…
Fitted a new set and machine is as good as new

    Thanks again
    Martin
