Zanussi Washing Machine FLE1116W Not Working

We have this washing machine about 10nyears and was working fine up to today. The start/pause button has a flashing green light and the first five green lights in the operating sequence are on with the remainder being off from drain light downwards. It is not possible to progress beyond this point. I cleared the filter and it was somewhat clogged. By looking down the filter hole, I did notice that was some sitting water. I then disconnected the water hose and drainpipe and manually removed this water by laying it on its side emptied it into a dish. I removed the drain pump and it did not appear to be a blockage. I reconnected the washing machine and still have the same problem. I would appreciate and feedback or suggestions to what the problem may be.
