Im in a pickle at the moment i have complete Bosch appliances which i got a packaged deal.
I need some advice on how technically the Bosch SMS53A12GB or SMS69L22GB perform? Both have a lot of programs (many nobody normally will use) but based on the technical design does anyone know which is the “better performing” as its the first time i am getting a dishwasher as we have a lot of curry/dirty plates and with my wife disabled it help us a lot. I am not concerned about energy saving just the best cleaning.

Anybody comment on the technical aspects which be better?

My second concern is how these can be fitted. I am not confident doing it myself but i read here that they can be a pain to connect as they can be fitted to a hot/cold feeds? but i have old connections connecting but a new combi-boiler system.

    Hi

You can compare both models directly here on the Bosch website.

From a personal standpoint I would go for the SMS69L22 with its cutlery tray, less water and power consumption, quieter in operation, Auto programs and the nice clean lines with the controls concealed along the top edge.

Freestanding dishwashers such as these are relatively easy to install as long as you follow the installation instructions.

Dishwashers are cold fill nowadays and simple connect to a standard cold fill. If you have any doubts concerning the installation I would consult with your local appliance engineer. Or alternatively you can find a recommended one here

thanks don. it seems they quite similar in terms of functionality. I be interested to know if they clean similar as well? THe SMS69L22 is the higher model, but i guess for cleaning they will be the same.

I saw that does that mean more capacity for big pots and pans? some reviews seem to point it as a disadvantage, i have only seem pics on the Bosch website.

Reliability wise are they the same too? i am thinking is the SMS69L22 worth the extra money.

Both are A rated on cleaning.

I like the idea of keeping cutlery separated in the top tray of the SMS69 as you will get better wash results on cutlery as everything is separated.

If it were me the 69 would be my choice.

    according to Appliancesdirect (http://www.appliance-reviews.co.uk/p/Bo … tions#tabs)

it can be connected to either hot or cold water supply, i am thinking… IF THEY ARE RIGHT (Don im not discounting your insight which i trust) wouldn’t that make the dishwasher more efficent?? as it does not have to heat the water itself?

Not if it’s off a combi boiler as the boiler will fire up and, almost certainly, by the time the dishwasher fills all you’ll have done is fill the pipes with hot water.

Common misconception that connecting to a hot supply is the best option as, it often isn’t.

    Hi

A competent DIYer should be able to install to existing services in a relatively short time.
