My SGV43A03GB dishwasher has stopped draining fully. THis happened a few years ago and i fixed it by removing trapped items/dirt from the impellor. This hasnt worked this time.
I have also removed the little back wash thing and ran the dishwasher several times on the hottest setting (totally empty) to see if that frees it up – hasnt worked. However the last time the amount of water left looked at loss less that prevsious cycles.
i have also tried a mixture of vinegar and baking soda twice to see if that clears it – it hasnt.
I have checked the draining/waste pipe – it is in the correct position into the sink waste pipe – i.e. down into waste piep so not flowing backwards.
It might be making a bit of a chugging noise when it tries to drain but i am not sure – running it on empty with the filter cover off you can see the impellor going round.
I cant get in to the back of the machine easily as its integrated but the waste pipe coming out of it looks OK – no kinks.
At the moment i am think it is eiether blocked further down the pipe – so if its this how can i get it cleared or theres somethign wrong with the pump????
Any help would be greatly appreciated as i cant get an engineer out to look at this (and it might be very simple) for another 3 weeks.

Yes it does sound like a partial blockage somewhere, unfortunately the only practical way forward is to pull the machine out and get the left hand side panel off. Once it’s off you can access the drain hose itself, the antisyphon/water metering chamber, and the hose directly from the pump.
As you’ve probably already noticed the outlet from the pump chamber has a small rubber flap valve to prevent backflow and this can be carefully withdrawn from it’s slot to make access easier that end…if you have a ‘drain snake’ you can carefully rod through from that end…
