ParticipantHi,
Washer seems to start washing cycle OK but stops when expected to rinse/spin.The WASH ENHANCE light and On/Off flash rapidly.
If set to FAST SPIN ..it will do a spin one way, then the otherm about 3 or four alternate spins …(same as a wash , spin clockwise, anitclock, etc ) ..and then when you expect it to enter rapid spins, you the flashing lights.
Ive checked the pump filter, its clean.
Hoses are clean
Pressure switch tube is clear
Black sump hose is clear.
I can see the pump spining when trying to do a Fast spin or slow spin only (filter cover removed of course)
Pump shows about 200 ohms on terminals, guess its not goosed.so Lights no 1 and the on/off flash.
HEater relay (i.e PCB ) or something more simple ?
and if PCB, could i get the same model PCB from an indesit machine as its same part number (essentially made by same company) or would it be pointless as it would need to be programmed to different timing/cycles for Hotpoint??May 8, 2013 at 7:26 pm #394657iadom

Light 1 is F08, heater relay fault ‘allegedly ‘. :rolls: No you cannot put a pcb from an Indesit in it, any board would need programming.

NOt even if the INDESIT machine has same specs/features and is essentially the same machine but badged INDESIT, rather than HOTPOINT ?
Both machines are 14oo sp00, variable spin control, variable temp control, same dials, same wash programmes, LOOK 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} same, same button/dial layout, etc, etc, etc but one is badges INdesit , other is Hotpoint ( made by same company)

What are the full model numbers plus the serial number AND commercial codes of both machines.
We are however talking Indesit here, the same board cannot be swapped between what appear to be identical models of the same brand name sometimes. :rolls:That said, what have you got to lose by trying them.
I would still say that your chances are very slim. 😥

OK..heres the scenario so far ..
If i remove the heater element ( i.e disconnect the wires), I can get the machine to work but it will be a cold wash.
The element is showing 33 ohms and has continuity.
Does anyone know WHICH of the 4 relays on the PCB is the ‘heater relay’ … as I now have 2 identical boards from identical machines and its the same issue …. each PCB has 4 identical relays, so I was hoping to desolder one and replace the ‘heater relay’ one. (I’m assuming both PCBs are faulty)Or could it still be the Pressure switch and how can I test the dam thing …I read somewhere 2 connections should be closed when empty, and then when water enters drum …the other 2 should be closed ( vice versa) …

ParticipantWT540 PCB – Location of Heater Relay ?
Hi, Can anyone point me to a schematic of the WT540 PCB board . I need to know which of the 4 relays is the ‘Heater Relay’ so that i can replace it …
THANKS

Right …found a schematic …shows the wiring diagrams … have tested the PCB as per the wiring diagram and its all OK … Relay connections are closed/open as shown on diagram …. Also figured out which relay controls the HEATER as per the diagram. .. BUT it all tests OK. So ON/OFF is flashing as is the Wash enhance light …. Heater teated OK for continuity and for resistance … but guess what.. bought a second hand element and the machine is working a treat … so the`moral of the`story is… just because the simplest part tests fine, never assume its OK!!! simple £5 fix ..yipeeeeee

Know it’s an old post.. but interesting.I might try meggering the machine to see if the heater is shorting to earth;-)
