ParticipantCustomer – who strikes me as a sensible person, not prone to flights of fancy – assures me she has seen this (non existent) error code after the machine has pumped out – it then fails to spin. I ran it on drain and spin and it completed fine, although it jumped from one minute remaining, to two minutes and then continued ok. During this final two mins I discovered – by holding a screwdriver against the impeller(which had been working fine up to this point) – that it was energised (vibrating against screwdriver) but not rotating.
I’m guessing lazy pump motor – shame because there seems to be no pattern alternative, and the gen one is bloody costly. I’m also considering changing the drain hose just in case a coin is stuck in there. Any other thoughts much appreciated.

I don’t think E:13 is a draining problem ??? It’s a door interlock fault…..but can also be caused by low motor or dryer heater element insulation. This is actually a smeg built machine….I despise them in all honesty !!! I have yet to decipher the way to access the test programme so have given up trying :rolls:
E:6 is a draining fault code . E11 is a motor fault .

Hi nomadPaul, interesting you mention the door interlock, as the door as quite loose on its hinges as if it’s been leant on, and I wonder whether this might be the cause of the E13. I suspect that there is also an intermittent drain fault though. Apparently it’s had very little use, situated as it is, in an infrequently used holiday flat

Fitted a new interlock and, touch wood, 24hrs later it’s still ok. I think the weight of water was pressing against a dodgy/loose interlock, causing intermittent E11 and E13. The fit of the interlock on this machine is appalling – there is at least 1mm play from side to side, and therefore the screws need to be bloody tight. I suspect that, over time, the interlock is forced back in its slot, and starts to engage less positively.
