Hi,
Just been out to a 20+ year old dishwasher with the motor spraying really slowly. I’ve been having a look for a motor and it comes in two parts, motor and chamber(impeller) but it seems that the motor has been obsoleted. (140488)Does anybody know of an alternative for this model. I’m really surprised with BSH, they dont usually obsolete things this quickly on such a popular model. Its basically the same as the hotpoint version but with a relay as far as I can remember.
If anybody can help it would be really appreciated guys.

The motor is still listed for the old Hotpoint type if it is the one slung underneath that had the relay plugged onto the end of the motor. It is possible to fit the capacitor motor in place of the relay type.
Part number is C00209518.

I’m sure in the distant passed I tried to fit the Hotpoint version but there was something that wouldnt work. I know the BSH one has a relay and the Hotpoint has the capacitor but is it just as simple as a straight forward swap, wire for wire from relay to capacitor?

The original Hotpoint one was also a relay type 30 plus years ago, it’s many moons since I changed one but the capacitor one used to come as a replacement.
Don’t think it is a simple wire for wire as the relay type plugs into the motor similar to a fridge compressor relay, it doesn’t have the three tags the old washer relays used to have. You would need a capacitor as well.It really is that long ago that I cannot be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} TBH.
