    Hi,

We have a Bosch hbn131250b/03 and it has been a little noisy, more a sound like a vacumn cleaner though no where near as loud…but not as smooth as normal (the fan I thought) the last few days, then tonight it ruined dinner. It managed to blacken the top of a lazanya as if it had been on for twice as long as it had. The inside was hot but not as hot as you would expect. I think there is some uneven heat?

The fan does spin fast as per normal. There is no play in the fan. I took the back plate off and the fan and the element both look fine (I replaced the element about a year ago).

The motor looks fine, and as I say, it is spinning. So, I’m not sure what it could be. Would really appreciate some suggestions.

    Many thanks
    Joel

You may have two different problems there… The fan can make a noise as it gets older and/or warped and therefore may need replacing…

However, the burning of the food would normally be down to a failure of the oven thermostat which can also be replaced.

Because testing of the thermostat would require dismantling of the oven we cannot advise you on that for safety reasons, other than to say Click here to find a local engineer

What you can do is to put an oven thermostat inside the oven and set it to a designated heat setting to see if the light on the oven goes out at the correct temperature.
