Does it matter if I replace a double-coil element with a triple-coil? Ordered what in the pic was a double coil (as in my oven), but a triple-one is in the packet.

You need to find out what the wattage is of the element you’ve been sent, is it the same as your old element? is there a cover over the element in the oven ? even if it is the same wattage as your original a 3 turn may not fit in the space you have under any cover. Personally I would advise you to get the correct element for your cooker.
Don’t forget if you try to fit the element & it won’t fit, then you probably won’t get a refund on it.

the smeg site is showing a 3 turn 2700w element for your cooker but they are also as for serial no to make sure

there is no problem replacing a 2 turn element with a 3 turn provided its physical size fits ok and the wattage about right. From the reliabilty point of veiw there is less wattage per inch of element so they tend to last longer. it could be the original 2 turn element has been changed to prevent premature failure
