    Hi, can anyone point me in the direction of a replacement main PCB DA41-00188A Version 1.2? Everywhere I have tried has come back as part obsolete. This fridge is only about 6 years old.

    One of the ULN2083 display control ICs has a hole blown in the top of it and the temperature display now has most of the segments lit either either fully or dimly. The fridge/freezer functions fine but the indicators don’t work properly. If a new board is not available is a replacement 2083 likely to correct the fault, I am surprised a component in that position failed like that.

    fridges are not my strong point but the little research i have done seems parts are available. you cant go by the circuit board numbers as these may have changed as Samsung modifies over a production run. which board is the blown chip on? main pcb or door display board?

    ULN2083 seems to be a driver chip. it may have short circuited internally and popped. should be easy to source and try that first as it is prob the cheapest option

    a bit weird these parts seem to show on the trade site but no on 4mysamsung.co.uk

    seems to show display board as DA41-00173a but i cant guarentee this

    Thanks, the chip is on the main PCB. Yes DA41-00173a is the display board. I noticed in my first post I said ULN2083 it should be ULN2083APG which has 18 pins, the ULN2083 only has 16. The APG seems somewhat harder to find.

    I’d rather replace the whole PCB as it is less faffing about, as it is owned by a relative. But if the IC is avaiable easily I can soon swap it over.

    main board they list alternatives to the original part number which was DA41-00388a

    pre june 2006 use DA4100185J
    post june 2006 DA4100388J this one seems most likely

    A new PCB corrected the fault.
