ParticipantBeko WMC6140. I have never had this problem until recently. When I wash a dark load black t-shirts have white marks on them. I am using the same washing tabs as always so do not know why this has suddenly started.

But, what tablets are you using?
The detergent that people use is far more liable to cause issues than your washing machine in most cases. In virtually all staining issues, it will be a detergent problem.

Thank you for your reply. I put the tablet in a net bag under the clothes and never overfill the machine. I may try putting it on top of the clothes and see if that makes a difference. It is just strange that I have never had this problem before.

What tablets? 😉
Some are not suitable to be used that way.

I use the Lidl Formil tabs which I have used for years.

Can’t help you with those as I’ve not tested them nor can I see any test results although it is a bit surprising that there is no information on where the stuff is made or what’s in it.
All I can find is that at one point, a formulation got a Good Housekeeping tick and loads of anecdotal stuff from users saying how good or bad it is, which is largely unreliable as there is not any actual testing to a standard.
You do have to bear in mind though that, when you change your machine, any new machine will be using a lot less water and quite likely be more efficient than an older one so they will often need less detergent. Sometimes considerably less to prevent issues like you have, overfoaming and so on.
The obvious problem with tablets in that respect is, you cannot alter the dosage in any way at all.

Thank you for that reply. I have only had the machine a few months and although I only ever use one tab – I think I will go over to a powder formula so I can dose accordingly. I may also try using liquid next time I do a dark wash to see if it makes a difference.

Liquid is fine for coloured and dark stuff but not for whites, there’s no bleach in them. 😉

Thank you. I didn’t know that about the liquid.
