ParticipantIntegrated dishwasher circa 2009. I know this means a timeout of some description but wondered if there is a common issue on these I can look for, customer claims it’s cold upon opening the door, but you know what customers are like.
Job is a 70 miles round trip so was keen to nail it first visit 😯
Thanks, Eddie.

Thanks for the reply. yeah, did read that sticky paul but was hoping someone more familiar with BSH than I am could give an idea of what to chuck in the van before I set out, really dont want two 70 mile round trips with the price of Diesel. 😉

Check PCB for burnt relay terminal first. If that is OK then the heater is fooked!

There are a few other things to check as well as Martin’s sage advice. First , listen to it fill and make sure it fills fully and starts washing. If it fills/drains/fills/drains continuously without the wash motor firing up , it’ll probably be the impellor jug (flow rate meter ) – 424099.
Next , make sure there’s plenty of pressure from the wash motor going round the spray arms as low water pressure from the motor equals no heat. Low pressure is normally a blocked impellor .
After these 2 simple checks , follow Martins advice.May 24, 2013 at 6:30 pm #395240Madmac

Cheers paul. Had a look at this today, turns out it was the NTC/TOC that sits above the heater. NTC is 40k at room temp and responds normally but the other side is o/c.
There seemed to be good output from the wash pump when I tried it before stripdown & the water level was ok so I’m not sure why it might have gone.I’ve ordered a new one, they’re cheap enough thankfully, fingers crossed 😯

Bored today so stripped ‘stat down to it’s component parts.Bi-metal disc and associated mechanism working fine, switch contacts perfect and shiny, yet was still getting o/c at output terminals 😕
Then I noticed the joint between one of the tags and the switch was not quite properly crimped and that was the actual problem all along. Why it has worked since its creation in 2009 we shall never know 😯Eddie.
