ParticipantGood afternoon all,
Could anyone provide a wiring diagram for the above refrigerator?
I have renewed the thermostat to cure a non cooling problem, but have been informed the interior lamp now only works when the compressor is working.
I thought I’d refitted the three wires, brown, black and blue as per the original, but wonder if I’ve made a mistake.
Kind regards,
Jonty

Perhaps someone could let me where to obtain a wiring diagram?
I’ve been unable to do so through Bosch.

Black always fits too terminal 4 on thermostats. ( numbers next to terminals )
Brown normally fits too terminal 6
Blue normally fits to terminal 3
If the compressor runs when the thermostat is set in the off position 0 .
Then you need to switch brown to terminal 3 and blue to 6.
Retest in the off position 0 if the compressor is off then when you turn the stat on it should work Ok.

Thanks Bob,
I originally connected black to T4, and blue to T4 too as T4 relates to two smaller terminals on the thermostat, and the black and blue female connectors will only fit this pair of terminals.
I originally fitted the brown wire to T3 as this was how the original was wired, and T6 was unused.
I’ve also tried the brown wire to T6, but the customer reported the internal lamp will only illuminate when the compressor is running!
Wondering if Bosch have modified the ‘stat/wiring, although there was no information to this effect with the new genuine part.
Perhaps I need to change the blue wire connection, and fit to T3?
Head scratching time!

T4 is the feed for the compressor that is why the bulb only works when the compressor is running.
The brown should fit on the T6 and the Blue on the T3.
If you turn the thermostat to the off 0 the compressor should not run if it does run then you need to swop brown back to T3 and blue to T6.
T3 and T6 terminals are linked together on all stats.
Some stats 3 & 4 is the switch for the compressor and some stats 6 & 4 is the switch.
T6 on most stats is for the light. So you may need to just move the blue from 4 to 6.
Then test the compressor is not running with stat in the off position.
Hope this helps

Thanks again Bob,
Not sure how to proceed with wiring up this thermostat correctly, as it will mean fitting larger terminals to one or two wires.
This may be the case, but I wonder why no modification information was supplied with the new genuine ‘stat?
I don’t wish to cause any damage to the new part, or wiring etc.

You will not do any damage to the wiring or stat as long as the earth wire is in the correct place. ( The outer body of the stat terminal ).
The black stays on T4 and the other two wires are on the live side of the stat T3 & T6.
T6 is normally the permantly live for the light.Bob

Good evening Bob,
I’m sure all is well now with the fridge light in question.
Bosch have clearly modified the thermostat, as I have connected the blue to T3 yesterday as you suggested, and all fine.
The delay has been due to the couple visiting Germany for two weeks… lucky them.
Thanks again,
jonty
