    Hi

    Been an anonymous reader of these forums for many years and found your advice to be invaluable so decided to register. Thanks! 🙂

    We have a AEG Competence D5701-4-M model oven (PNC: 944171390). Today it has started misbehaving. When the main oven is in use (Ventitherm ® Precision Fan Cooking mode), it fails to reach the required temp. The interior does become warm to touch but it is at best radiator temperature.

    The grill function still works and the smaller oven/grill also functions normally.

    I have search the web for similar symptoms and people have suggested that either the element has failed or the thermostat is broken. However all the people who reported broken elements have also reported noises and their RCB box tripping out. We have had neither.

    I don’t have a multimeter of my own to check the current element.

    Any suggestions?

    ps: The oven is five years old.

    All pointing toward the element. Time to invest in that multimeter I reckon.
