Turn on machine all ok press start and door interlock light flashes on and off but machine does nothing but power goes to the heater element(you can hear the water in the drum like a kettle)you can put it on drain spin etc nothing but power to the heater?

If all it does is power the heater on then you’d have to assume that the control relay on the main control board is stuck in the on position. I can’t think of another explanation.
