ParticipantMy hoover vhd814 has the flashing door lock light, after doing a search i found that door interlock is the probable cause, so my question is how do I get the door interlock off the machine ? Thanks.
I got the thing off, can anyone just confirm it is the door interlock that’s at fault don’t want to be spending money on parts i don’t need.
Thanks.June 15, 2013 at 10:19 am #396394Dazmufc

I got the thing off,You’ve left us confused by your questioning……have you now got it on or off?
Door interlocks always fail and are cheap to replace so why not take a punt eh?

Male door probe not operating the interlock (spring tension fault)?

The door itself has a male probe that operates the female interlock. The result of this union (intercourse) is that it engages and operates the switch within and the fun begins! Now if the door probe is weak and floppy it won’t make a good connection and the switch won’t engage and the fun won’t begin. All part of life’s rich washing cycle I suppose? :clown:

That is the heater circuit I think so maybe the heater has blown the board?

I’ve read this from another post,
Re: Hoover VHD 814-80 door security light problem
by helo_75 » Sat Dec 22, 2012 1:01 amill save u some massive expense
the motor will have failed and blown the board… im always doing that repair
if you look at the board, across the top edge u will see a single blown track
you could try soldering it, but if the motors screwed, it will blow again

I’m going to try it, so if it blows again I know its the motor. How much am I looking at for a motor ?
