ParticipantHi, is anybody able to help me with an old problem that I’ve had with my machine. When this has happened before I reconnected a loose wire to the thermistor sensor and all was well again. I have tried and tried but no joy and the flashes return after a about 30 seconds of taking in water and then stops with the flashing lights again ? Is it the thermistor that is faulty now
? Hoping somebody can help 🙁June 17, 2013 at 5:56 am #396429sce

Usually the tumble dryer ntc (electronic thermostat/thermistor) gone u/s but it can also be the fan seized. No easy way to test the ntc whether the dryer one as this fault code points to or the wash ntc either ( lights 3 and 4 only flashing for the wash thermistor)check all the wires as you have suggested. Dryer ntc wires I have had them break so check these.

Thanks for your reply. Does u/s mean unserviceable ?
I think I’ve tried everything now. There may be a break within the wire, but I’d need to rewire the whole length to fix & it still may not be the problem. I don’t have a multimeter to check power on thermistor, sooo, I may have to bite the bullet and get a repairman to take a look.. (As the dryer hasn’t worked for a while, it sounds like we need a proper service).
Thanks.June 17, 2013 at 6:37 pm #396431tinaxania

Hi, had the repairman round & he couldn’t find the problem. (Still flashing 1,2 & 4).He advised scrapping machine – but still couldn’t tell me if it was the thermistor that is faulty as he said there’s no way to check except to put in a new one and see if the machine works… Is there any way to check it – the same goes for the pcb ?

If the drier is functions and the fan spins replace the drier NTC,
No real way to test but more often than not its that NTC, check all wiring to it and connections on both sides.
