ParticipantTop loading washing machine bought in France: Arthur Martin (Electrolux). Model AWT1014 AA. Typ 97P22595, Serial No 601 00202. Production No 9132 05281/02. The problem is a small leak. I have traced it to the water inlet/soap dispenser in lid. The machine used to be kept in a cellar with damp stone crumbly walls (limestone) and had to be wiped regularly to clean off the grit that fell from the walls, the lid was always kept open. It is only now, on looking at it more closely, that I realise a lot of grit fell into the gap behind the hinged part of the door where it has remained. The soap dispenser itself is clean. I removed one side of the machine and sat patiently with a torch to trace the leak back and found that water seems to be seeping through a seam in the back of a plastic conduit/channel behind the door (underneath the control panel) where the original seal is very discoloured (same colour as the grit) and is obviously no longer holding. How do I remove the door and control panel cover to see it properly and work out how to repair it, and also to clean off all the remaining debris? Can someone help me please?

The control panel unclips from the sides and hinges backwards. The lid held on by pins that can be slid out with a screwdriver. ( place a cloth under to prevent pins falling into the drum )

Thanks Martin. I’ve got into the control panel – loads of solidified grit etc in the water channels which I will clean up – but I can’t locate the pins holding on the lid. Can you explain exactly where they are?
