Ive been looking at a second hand hoover washing machine 1100 spin, its fairly old but in good condition, the drum seems sound etc…my question is, with it being an eco wash model is there a shorter spion cycle as i think i read a post somewhere off another forum that a guy looking to buy his neighbours said a full cycle on 40 cotton took only 20 mins or so,i just want a regular wash that uses a decent amount of water and not one that compromises on water or has a shorter cycle time. does anyone know if this model is any good and has full cycle washes etc?

or is it just called an eco wash because it does half loads etc ??

model is A1110 HOOVER ECO WASH

This is a very old model and does NOT have any of the modern energy saving features you seek. It does however do a good wash and arguably better than its modern counterparts in many ways. But, as I say it is well old so likely as not won’t be in any great shape right now.

Im not after energy saving features ( see above post )

I wanted to know if it does a full cycle and uses a proper amount of water as its an eco model and i dont want something that does a short cycle or uses less water

It uses a vast amount of water per cycle than any modern machine.

And does it do a full cycle of 40oC wash, i was readingf where a guy said it took only 20 minutes to do a 40oC non coloureds wash, that doesnt sound right, my one now takes about an hour or so.

Do eco washing machines have shorter cycles ???

Bull***t, or words to that effect. 😀 Martin will be :rotfl: reading that.

Even the rinse and spin cycles on these old stalwarts will take at least 30 minutes or more.

I didnt think that sounded right, thought i better check though. Why is it called an eco wash ? Is it because it has the half load option ?

Marketing guff most of the time, there is a Hotpoint machine of recent vintage that has ‘Super Silent’ on the front, they can often be very noisy. :rolls:

If your machine has half load or any way of reducing the wash temps then it could be loosely described as Eco. 😉
