ParticipantHello,
We have an Indesit DI450 dishwasher which is an inbuilt unit that was in the house when we moved in. The machine has 5 leds that indicate the 5 different programs that you can set.
Recently the machine has been stopping before completing it’s program with lights number 2 and 4 both flashing. This does not happen every time we use the machine but is starting to happen more often. It also doesn’t seem to happen at the same point eg. sometimes it does it within a few minutes and sometimes towards the end of its program. The way we have found to clear the code temporarily is by turning the machine off at the mains.
The manual indicates that lights 2 and 4 mean blocked filters. However, all our filters are clear. I have checked the water inlet and waste outlet and both of these are OK. Does anybody have any ideas what the problem may be? Thanks in advance for any help.

2+4 is a blokced filter warning, could be mesh plate, filter or microfilter, pressure sensor, pressure switch.
Also some models have a flow meter fitted that can give this error code.
Would need all the details from the rating plate on the side of the door to decide which model you have.

Thanks for your help. I had checked back before but looked in the wrong place and not noticed someone had replied.
I have found the panel on the door and it says it is a DI 450 UK C with a type number LS08-EVO3C. It is made in china.
When I looked at the filters before I found that the spinning filter was slightly broken, which I have now fixed. But this has not fixed the intermittent problem.
thanks again in advance for any help

Oh dear me. :rolls: 😥
It does not appear to have a flow meter, could be anything if filters are clear, failing circulation pump/motor, faulty flow sensor or pressure switch.

Yes I’d read in some of the posts trying to find a solution that the made in china models are not the best! I can only say I’m not guilty as it was in the house when we moved in.
After having another look at it yesterday it seems the place where the filter fits onto the filter handle is slightly worn and a bit loose. I mean where you turn it to lock the two pieces together. Do you think this might be enough to cause the issue?

Unlikely, you can remove all of the filters completely and run it without dishes, if error still persists then the fault is internal.

I removed all the filters and started the machine. It gave the error right at the start of the cycle as you predicted.
How do I go about checking the flow sensor or pressure switch. There doesn’t seem to be a diagram of where all the parts go in my manual.

Unless you are an Indesit Company engineer you will not get parts, wiring or service manuals.
It is not really possible to ‘test’ the flowmeter anyway.
