ParticipantFills then no circulation. No power to the circ. pump. Wiring loom ok. Lights dont flash to show what fault is.
Board looks ok.
Any other ideas please.
Thanks,
Mike

cant find pictures i need to sort out which unit it is but
trace wire back to pcb
check for broken wires if timer is in door
trace wires onto timer is motor relay operated or triac. if relay is it faulty if triac does it look ok ie not got a hole in it
look at timer board find power supply. if it is capacitor fed could be this. you can check this by measuring dc voltage on board. there must be at least 1 relay on the board. if you look at the voltage of this it will give you the line voltage of the board. if when you measure you get a lot less then thats itif you post picture of board will look at it for you

I too is having the same troubles with the same dw. I even had the board sent off for inspection and it came back as no fault found.
I was asked to check heating circuits, i checked the heater, all is fine.
At the moment I am trying to figure out what to do next as it will be my third trip to the customer’s dw.

so is your got the same faults as mike? or does it present slightly differently.
when you said you had the board looked at do the test it fully or is it just a visual check?Dave

I sent the board off to QER to have it tested. Costed me nearly £10 for only to come back as no fault found.
The fault description sounds very much the same as Mike’s. Basically the dw starts off first drain then fills then no wash action. No lights flashing. You can reset it for it to drain out. I checked the motor for jamming or stiffness, all appears to be in order. I would very much like to do “live” test the motor to see it in action so I can eliminate it. QER suggested suspected fault lies within the heating circuits. I do know that the heating circuits are fine. The insulation readings are well above 2000mohm.
The only thing that bothered me was the readings from the clamp meter showed during the “silence” while waiting for the wash motor to kick in. The readings showed fluctuations of 4 to 900 milliamps, one thought it was the capacitor assuming the one on the board but like I said the board was tested. Unless there is another capacitor elsewhere like this from Connect (5031684780266) causing the problem? The description seems misleading as it looks very much like a suppressor rather than capacitor.
The ohms readings from the wash motor is 30ohms. Is this normal?

dont know the wash motor readings but sounds about right. i assume qer would check power supply caps on the board so that should be ok.
where is the board on your model as i dont know it well. is it in door or at the front clipped to the chassis. if its down below had one with a similar fault years ago and it was the lead from the pressure switch. not broken but must have had a short on it but i could not find it. all i know was when i stuck my multimeter to earth while it was on the motor started. very weird but a new cable cured itDave

The board was clipped inside the door. Interesting theory about pressure switch but this one does not have one as it is tacho driven if that is right word.

to be honest my next step would be to double check QER
trace motor wires back to board
open board and find out if its fad with a relay or a triacif its a relay look at rated voltage and check to see if its energized at any time ( means running unit with board on show)
what you are looking for is 1 of 2 things1 relay is energised with a much lower voltage ie 12v relay gets 6v
2 relay has full voltage but does not close contactno2 is a failed relay no1 is a power supply problem
if its triac operated check the power supply to the board. A lot of dishwasher use series capacitor power supply when they fail it lowers voltage to board and causes fault 1 above

Ok thanks, I will give QER a call to double check then will contact the customer to arrange new appointment.
I would have thought the relay would have been tested at QER, like I said I will give them a call to check. Will keep you posted. On the previous thread about attaching a 40w light bulb, did you mean a normal light bulb from a table lamp? I will have to try that out as well.

yes normal 40w or so lamp. any size will do but not too small and not energy saving
you need to replace heater element with something that wont affect the board and you can tell if the heater is switched on
lamp has no earth so cant affect the electronicsDave

The said dishwasher appears to be working. I didn’t really do anything to it other than removing the motor and give a twiddle. My thoughts were that when I removed the wash motor, I may have loosen it up. Or that QER who tested the board may have “reset” it thus made it work. I will never know for sure. One thing I’ve learnt that the ‘o’ ring seal for the motor onto the heater assembly does not come as separate.
If you wanted a new seal then you will need to buy the whole heater assembly! So I kind cured it with debor to seal it. Handy stuff, I tend to use the debor as a last resort.
I thought I update you on what had happened.
