the machine works fine but shakes violently on spin it doesn`t seem
to distribute the load weight evenly before the spin cycle. really noisy
has broken the lower condensor bracket and have had to replace the
flexi connection fron the condensor to the outer drum at least twice
the machine is level.
any ideas anyonesteve

Steve,
In all honesty sounds like your in for a hiding for nothing on this one 🙁
It could be that the motor and its controlling module are not the best of friends at this stage. Motors are the usual troublespot, and it would need close inspection for a start.
Drum bearings are another possiblity, again very suspect. Always check the filter regularly and the pump also one to watch.
How old is it (What is its ‘FD’ number ) I wonder???

Martin
Thanks for the reply
Fd7904 00182 is the no.
it`s about 6 years old i think had it from new never had much luck with washer dryers but pushed for space (had 2 hotpoints before this)
the motors ok not long been cleaned and new carbons fitted.New timer fitted about 2 years ago after faulty spin.It all seems to work fine just
really shake`s the life out of itself , it shake`s so much the condensor bangs against the side of casing and the front plastic panel broke at the fixing points the front metal panel broke at the bottom fixing points. There is a point before the spin cycle where it does short quick spins ,i think to distribute load after wash, but this bangs the machine aswell.
have you ever heard of the lower suspension failing or know of any test
to check it.Steve 🙁

ParticipantSteve,
This is the Spanish built machine, which is a notorious bouncer. There are two dampers mounted below the drum and onto the chassis floor which wear. You have done the obvious and checked the filter/bottom hose and sink coupling (if appropriate) for blockages and crud?Beyond that, I’m with Martin I’m afraid.

If this is notorius bouncer does that mean other machines (same model)
don`t bounce , different parts used or just duff model
Can the dampers be upgraded these one`s seem to be plastic outer sleeve and don`t have much about them, any idea what the max load weight is (wet or dry)Thanks 🙄

ParticipantThe Balay-built washer dryers as a family seem to be very bouncy. The drum construct and spring/damping set up is the same as the washer version, but with all the ducting on the top of the drum it effectively raises the centre of gravity, making the drum top heavy.
As far as I know there are no “uprated” components available, though consider at 5/6 yeras old the struts will have had a pounding by now.
Part number for replacement struts is 265433, list price is £14.10 each, plus vat and post.
You can order through http://www.bshappliancecare.com
