Hi Guys,
I am having trouble with my fridge on my american fridge freezer, It is not cooling.
The freezer is working fine and the fan is working fine too.
The air duct is not opening to allow the cold air to circulate.
The temperature on the control panel is set to 5 and I am unsure whether it should tell me the correct temperature inside the fridge or is this just what it is set at ?
The freezer does not appear to be frozen up and some of the tests I have carried out tell me the defrost heaters are working correctly.
The central partition between the fridge and freezer at the front is very warm.
Also i have just found out that I can just slide the duct open with a screwdriver or knife and I am thinking that this is not normal as i thought it would be operated by the coil to pull or push the flap open and shut ?
Anyone got any ideas on this ?
Thanks for reading.
It’s more likely that your freezer has a fault which would normally be in the area of the defrost heater as once the evaporator gets covered in snow it restricts the cooling efficiency.
Take your freezer baskets out and see if there is a build up of ice on the back of the freezer section.
