    Good afternoon all,

Wondering if anyone can offer any advice on the above washing m/c problem?

A customer contacted me to report the above error code, E4 which relates to the rpm sensor/motor.

Upon testing on a spin cycle this morning, the drum spins much more quickly than it should at the beginning of this cycle for a few seconds before stopping.

After around one minute, and no further motion E4 is displayed, and the programme aborts.

Could someone please confirm if I am correct in suspecting the motor, which is difficult to test conclusively, or if I should be checking/suspecting the electronics and wiring which appears fine.

The speed sensor on the inner end of the motor is secure, and appears fine too.

    Best wishes,

    jonty

    Hi jonty

Fault codes here for Gorenje and there is a related topic further down this page as well.

    Good afternoon Dave,

    Thanks for your help.

I did a quick search prior to posting new topic, and remain a little confused as one post suggests heater/relay fault.

Do you know if the “inverter” which controls the motor speed, relates to the tacho coil, and is part of the motor?

    Thanks again,

    jonty
