Green indicator “on” light stopped working a few years ago on the freezer section of a Bosch KGS3275/09 fridge / freezer. Had a recent near miss with the freezer and nearly lost a load of food (as with no lamp you can’t see if it’s working or not) and suddenly thought it might be a good idea to fix the lamp.

It appears that it is available as part number 17 3711 from Bosch, but it’s not clear if it is replaceable without soldering. Also, can’t see how the top comes off for access, I can see two screws underneath but removing them didn’t allow the cover to come off. I presume it has tabs or clips somewhere holding it on. Given the age of the appliance and possible brittle plastic (and breaking what is otherwise a perfectly serviceable appliance) I was reluctant to force it.

I’d be grateful for any info or tips.

The green light, like the red light is just a regular plug in neon type. Hardly anything to worry over and, as you say, difficult to replace without risking breaking the panel. Access is via hidden plastic latches, not worth the hassle. Ain’t broke, don’t mend!

OK Martin, thanks for the reply. It did seem a possible path to disaster, and the bulb must have gold plated contacts, as Bosch want £10.20 with the postage. Nuff said, leave alone.
