ParticipantEvening
Our 714 won’t open the door interlock. I know the likely cause is the interlocks gone. So swapped it for a new one but the same problem occurs.
Opening it up an releasing it is a pain but works so this is what happens…
If its unlocked then on starting a cycle the interlock clicks and locks. Door is locked shut and the display padlock lights up to say its locked and the cycle runs
End of cycle and it doesn’t unlock. Padlock goes off to suggest the pcb is requesting the interlock to release, it’s just not releasing. My question is is it worth changing the main PCB or am I starting a long chase and may be better junking it. It’s less than 4 years old but out of warranty, and parts and labour make it realistically beyond economic repair.
It could be I have a new but faulty interlock but looking for any thoughts as if it’s worth fixing.
Thanks n advance for any help.

Have you tried looking a the male door striker in case it is that that is playing up and not the interlock?

No
I was working on the fact the interlock does not click at all as it releases to assume it was the interlock..
Will check tonight…
Thanks…

Thanks. Few busy nights so looked at it last night.
Striker looked fine, but after a bit of trail and error worked out it released the interlock if you pushed the door in before trying to open it, but not if you just tried to open the door without pushing it in.
It looks like the male striker is just catching the interlock at the bottom, and on checking the hinge it was loose so a good 2 turns later to tighten the screw and it seems better.
It’s still catching just, so I suspect my wife’s habit of putting something on the door to remind her to turn it on in the morning means it’s deformed the hinge a little. May look at replacing the hinge next…
Many Many thanks, I’d been going on the fact it didn’t click the interlock open to suggest electrical issue, when it looks like its the male striker part of the catch stopping the interlock opening.

Sometimes the bar inside the door which holds the striker in place will ride out of it’s locators. Worth a check on that as well.
