    When I turn the machine on the element heats but the motor does not spin and a loud hum starts. I replaced the 7uf capacitor but it remains the same. Is it possible that I have a duff spare? or is there another reason for these symptoms?

    Does the drum turn by hand ok if you open the door? Unlikely to be faulty spare. If cap fitted correctly then motor start windings gone.
    Power off if you’re going in.

    yeah drum and motor spin fine by hand if its the motor is it fixable?

    Unless wiring to start capacitor had broken intenally at capacitor end. if ok new motor required.
