    Hi thanks for all your replys from last post I have a whirlpool s20 with freezer warming up as defrost is not operating does any one know what reading should get from the evaporator heater as it was fully iced up red something like 86 ohms end to end as its in a big u shape, is it also wise to change the relay thermostat to does anyone have more information on this issue it would be appreciated

    If you’re getting a reading through the heater then test all the connections through the defrost sensor / thermal cut-out. If all good then problem is with the power module at the back, it will need replacing. Common problem on these.

    Thanks for your reply I also have 1 of these units heating up in freezer at top defrosting the ice maker as if the defrost is staying on to long or fan has shut down, there is no problem with the fan as I have seen it running. the customer said they turned it off left it for a bit then it started freezing as normal then a day or to later warming up again, do you think this could also be the power module.
