    For the purpose, I wouldn’t recommend one.

    Robotic vacs are fine for the odd bit of dust etc but they will not tackle serious stuff well at all. And, I’m afraid, I’d reckon a husky to be a challenge it just wouldn’t be able to help you much with.

    The Roomba does a good job in a house with both wooden and carpeted floors when there’s a hair shedding Sheltie around. He came back from the poodle parlour last week and the dog hairs were flying about like tumbleweed. Dog send out (to the back yard as we say over here) and switch on the Roomba…..sorted!

    Seriously, they do work, I can testify to that. They are great fun to watch too especially when their work is done and it then parks itself on the charger…..what will they think of next eh? 😀

    Yes they do but they block up quickly Martin.

    True enough, after all it’s only the size of pizza so expectation beyond the novelty value is limited. I personally wouldn’t buy one, a costly toy but an ideal gift for the technophobe for sure. 😉

    Whilte there are already many types of Robot vacuums from iRobot, haven’t seen one for pet hair.

    iRobot Roomba 650 Vacuum Cleaning Robot is amazing! Have you guys try? I can sit in my recliner reading my kindle while it scurries around cleaning my house. With 5 dogs, it’s amazing how much dirt is in the bin every day. It seems to learn as it goes. The first few days, it would clean for an hour, then dock and charge it’s battery for a couple hours and then go back at it for another hour. Now it only does the first hour. The floor is spotless! Highly recommend!
