Hi there,
I have a Bosch Classixx SGS43C12GB. It came to me 2nd hand 7 or 8 years ago and has worked perfectly up until very recently. Initially wash programme seemed to be taking longer and longer, with apparent lack of heat in water. Now there’s no water filling inside the machine and the soap drawer is not opening. There is a noise which I assume is the drain pump which comes on whenever you start the machine: this cuts in and out and continues to operate if you open the door.
I’ve had a good look on here but have ground to a halt.. The water supply up to the machine is ok. The drain/ trap inside the machine is clear. i live in a soft water area. The PCB looks ok in as much that I don’t see any broken or blackened connections.
I tried removing the water supply pipe immediately below the water matrix thingy on the left hand side: when you turn the machine on you get a small dribble out of this when I would have expected a more powerful flow?
Any one have any ideas where to go from here? Any links to an exploded diagram so I can at least get the part descriptions correct? 😆Cheers

Water inlet valve is your first thing to check ithink

If pump runs when the door is open the safety system is active that is the mushroom in the base of the tub next to the filter ,either there is water leakage in the very bottom or float is jammed in the upper position for some reason.

Martin, presumably the water inlet valve is the one connected to the cold water supply just after it comes into the machine. Accuse my ignorance, but for the purposes of diagnosis/elimination what will happen if I bypass the valve and run the inlet pipe direct.
Jim, whereabouts is the float you refer to?

Id go with jims reply first, check you dont have any leaks..
Also try turning the water supply off at the tap, if the pump eventually stops, then try it again with the tap on. If it then takes water in, then you probably have a leak somewhere which is activating the pump..

I’ve cleaned around the mushroom and it appears to be moving freely. I can turn the pump on and off by moving it up and down with the door open. I’ve checked for leaks underneath in the base but nothing obvious, and no marks/staining on the floor when I pulled the machine out.
Martin, I’ve tried the machine with the water on and off as you suggested: with the water off the pump comes on for approx 30 seconds, then off for 10. With the water turned on it cycles approx 30on 30 off.
Any ideas where to go next?Cheers

Fixed it!!
It turns out that the water supply pressure was too low. Although I’d checked the supply pipe already, when rummaging under the kitchen sink I noticed that the tap controlling the water supply looked a bit squint. Previous owner had fitted a clamp on tap onto the supply pipe with a washer squeezed between thw tap and the pipe. Once I’d taken it off, cleaned it up and refitted it the water pressure has improved sufficiently for the machine to be back to normal.
I guess I should have tested that more thoroughly before assuming fault lay with the machine itself.
Thanks to Martin and Jim for suggestions any way, as I now have a slightly better understanding of the machine’s workings.Cheers
