    Hello,

The fan on my hotpoint oven sometimes will not start and just hums. Will lubricating it solve this problem? If so, will 3-in-1 oil do or is there something better?

How do I do it? Do I have to open the back of the oven? I am having a new kitchen so the oven will be removed and disconnected so an ideal time to do this.

Am I right to think that I remove the fan blades from inside the oven but remove the motor from the back of the oven or can it be oiled in situ?

    Thanks.

Doubtful lubricating will cure it. Yes you have to attack it from front and back. Quite an easy job to fit one

Thanks for your reply. I guess I’ll look into a replacement. What do you think has caused the fan to fail? This is only about 2 years old.

    It’s an Indesit. 😥

Replacing the motor is a much cheaper option 😉
