Having replaced the mouldy door seal and put some Affresh in it I’ve just discovered that my Zanussi washing machine isn’t heating the water up – that’ll explain the mould and funky smell then!

I’ve run the diagnostics mode and it’s showing E69. The curious thing is it doesn’t affect the wash length at all and it doesn’t complain in normal operation.

Any ideas what this might be? If it’s likely to be a cheap repair (either DIY or pro) then it’s probably worth fixing, but at over 5 years (and 2 babies!) old I wouldn’t want to spend too much on it.

    Machine details are:
    Model: ZWF14581W
    Prod No: 914522628 00
    Type: HI954333
    Ser. No: 81001709

    Cheers,
    Stan.

E69 is a heating element circuit error.

Check the element and see if it’s open circuit is the first thing to do 😉

If it is, you need this to sort it:

Thanks Dave, will take a look tonight.

Any idea if the element is at the front or rear of this model? I’m not convinced the front panel comes off this machine (if it does I needlessly fitted the door seal in the style of a gynaecologist…..)

It’s at the back on that model 🙂

I finally got round to checking this and the element is indeed open circuit. Pulled it out and found a nice wodge of hair and fluff wrapped around it – guess that might have caused a hot spot and burnt it out?!

    Will get one ordered now….

Fingers crossed that’s the only fault. Thank you for your help and the great site!
