ParticipantMy fridge’s compressor runs constantly – I have stopped it destroying food by powering it via a timer clock whilst I work out how to regain temperature control.
So far I have replaced the control PCB – same fault remains. I have then attempted to remove the temperature sensor cable – I have dug as far into the body of the fridge as I dare but it is not giving up! I have however revealed a part number on the cable 4216601585. A google search of that gave me nothing!
If I unplug the sensor cable and then power up the fridge, it starts but quickly stops. Repeat the same test but this time I short out the two pins on the PCB which connect to the temperature sensor cable (using an insulted tool!) then the compressor does not start up at all. If I leave the cable connected then the compressor runs constantly – the original problem solved temporarily by the timer clock.
I’ve measured the resistance of the temperature sensor at about 7300 Ohm.
Three questions:-
1) Am I missing something or is this clearly a temperature sensor problem?
2) Can I source a replacement temperature sensor and if so how would I be able to remove the existing one?
3) If I can’t get an exact replacement or can’t remove the existing one then I would be happy to do some soldering from the connector and to run a cable inside the fridge and to glue a new sensor inside the fridge. What sensor could I obtain that would work with this fridge’s PCB?
Thanks for any help!

this is a maybe as i cant confirm
looks like you freezer may be made by stoves and from the websearches i have done
part number 082641500 maybe what you are after
maybe othe members can confirm but this sensor is used in both ovens and a wine cooler so it tick the right boxes
do a google search for your model but i would also email site shop to see if they can help

It’s not Stoves, it’s a Beko made fridge. 😉
I can’t be sure as I can’t access all the tech on it from here but it looks like a foamed in sensor that’s used that is irreplaceable.
There’s a bit of info on it but I can’t read it from here as I need to use a Windows machine, which I only have access to int he office.

Answering my own post I know but, I was curious about this as I couldn’t see Beko leaving you with a naff fridge just because of a sensor that costs a few pounds and, we’ve seen a few lately.
I need to look into it more when I have the time and all the information to hand but, from what I can see the sensors in these can be replaced. I will also have to make up a sheet to explain how it’s done as the one from Beko isn’t clear unless you know what you’re doing.
However, I’ve put up two options for you and I think it’s option No1 that you need but I’d have to confirm that to be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain…

The other one mentioned in the information is this one…

I don’t think it will be an air sensor that will be used in your fridge from the looks of it. 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure.
On the upside though, the parts are as cheap as chips.

Thank you – I have ordered the first sensor that you suggested so fingers crossed for a few days time when it arrives with me.

Sorry for the big delay folks due to IT incompetence, to now bring you up to date…… I bought the suggested sensor and tried to get it to switch the fridge on and off by holding it in either warm water or iced water. The fridge just ran and ran – same thing with two different control PCB’s so I conclude that the sensor was not the right one.
In the end I have bought and fitted a replacement fridge – the ongoing expense of wrecking food whilst I worked out what was wrong was proving too much.
From the Lamona HJA6740 I have retained the control PCB and the display PCB which from experience I know are both expensive and difficult parts to obtain. Anybody interested in these?
By the way, my failed fridge was just over two years old and Howdens would not entertain anything more than a token discount on a replacement even though the fridge had been bought along with several thousands of pounds worth of new kitchen and appliances. Yes the guarantee is strictly two years but really? Another supplier has now benefited from my custom!

Hi Alistair62
Do you still have the control panel pub and display pub for the Lamona 6740? I’d like to buy them from you if possible? -
