I am having a problem with my Hoover WNH147DF machine in that it takes some very steady hands to set the correct timer option. My guess is that the contacts are dirty on the selector, but I can’t see how to remove the knob to spray some switch cleaner in there

Why don’t you try removing the top panel and access the selector switch from the component side of the PCB? 💡 💡 💡

Because I can’t work out how that happens either; apart from couple of screws in the detergent drawer (which I didn’t want to just remove as I have no idea what is behind) there are no other screws/clips in evidence.

Not the fascia panel…..the TOP panel (aka the lid)……. :rolls:

from what I see the fascia moulding overlaps the lid so I assume that the top is secured from the rear of the machine? Is this the only way of getting to the switch contacts? is the control knob not designed to be removed as I would recon if the the PCB were to be replaced the knob would need to come off?

Not shocked at Martins usual non helpful comments… Take a small blades screwdriver and gently force it between the lip of the knob and the fascia itself.. A quick twist of the blade will release the knob.. Pull it off and spray what u can see with switch cleaner
