ParticipantHi,
A stupid question and I will probably be kicking myself when I know the answer, but could anyone explain to me how the fridge compartment in the Bosch/Neff Single Thermostat fridge/freezers gets cold? These are the ones where the shelves in the freezer get cold. The parts diagram doesn’t show the evaporator extending up the back of the fridge although the back appears to get cold, and there are no fans blowing air into the fridge 😕
In the one I’m looking at currently the freezer compartment is fine but the fridge temperature is too high even with the thermostat set to its lowest setting.
Thanks,

Sounds like it is a wet wall in that the back wall is cooling the fridge compartment,
Have you checked that the thermostat is working? Also is the back wall frosting up evenly?

Hi Steve,
I haven’t checked the thermostat. The compressor is running and freezer compartment is very cold and quite frosted up. I would guess that if the thermostat was stuck on the fridge would also get too cold? The back wall is more frosted towards the top if I remember rightly, but I’m not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure.
I’m actually looking at two of these which are identical integrated models installed side by side and both exhibiting the same symptoms. They’ve apparently been running for 2-3 years and never been defrosted which I can quite believe looking at the frost build up in the freezer compartments. I’ve checked that all the cupboard vents are clear and at the moment one of the machines is being defrosted to see if that helps. Not sure whether icing up is a problem with this type though as they have no fans or ducts to block?
Thanks,
