Hi, I have a hotpoint hvl211 washing machine and it will go through the wash fine, but when it goes onto start the rinse it stops doing anything, it sounds like its pumping water out and it starts flashing superwash and door locked, if I wait for it to stop making the noise I can then turn it off and start it to rinse and spin, it will then rinse but as soon as it tries to start to spin it has a little try then stops and the same lights start flashing again. Any ideas what could be causing this? Any help will be greatly appriciated!

It was doing it all yesterday, everytime I tried, this morning I tried again and it worked fine, then I tried again and it stopped working again. I’ve tried it with a full load, empty, half load all sorts and it just does the same thing. I’ve tried a good 15/20 times

You could check the obvious like the filter, possibly a blockage

any water left in the drum? if not drain pump doing it’s job…check motor brushes also resistance reading on inlet coil/valve should read approx4kohms if you’r in a hard water area check wash heater±wash ntc should read approx 30ohms for heater and 20kohms for ntc.hope this helps.take care.keep safe.
