I’ve just been to look at this machine and found that whichever programme is selected it starts OK, but if you open the door it has changed to the rinse cycle. It does that cycle quite normally. There doesn’t appear to be any sticking buttons so I assume there’s a fault on the module. Any other ideas? As the module is £140+ I don’t want to be wrong!!

One question, why open the door after selecting a wash programme anyway?

Because the customer reported that the NORMAL cycle had completed in about 15 mins., and when she went unload the machine it was on RINSE cycle, so she set it off again and same result. That’s why she called me in!!

I’ve not known of this problem before and on the face of it it does sound like it’s a duff PCB. If you’re sure things like the heater and the fill matrix operate as they should though first?

I’ve seen this twice…..and both times the problem was the gap between the top of the buttons and the worktop. On both occasions I found the ‘Rinse’ button was catching on one of the screws on the fixing brackets when in the closed position. No matter what cycle was selected , as soon as the customer closed the door the rinse button was pushed down by the screw Immediately switching it back to rinse !!! …….but unseen by the user. Worth looking out for.

Great call Paul. Worktop had been replaced and screw was left just protuding. Moved to different hole. Customer chuffed.
