i have a hotpoint that has had a new door boot and carbon brushes fitted.
the machine now seems to be repeating the wash cycle i.e.

    starts the wash displays “starting”

continues through the wash phase of the cycle heating and agatating ok and displays “heating” and “washing”

drains ok then displays “starting” then continues through the wash again displaying heating “heating” and “washing” again

the machine dose the same when put on a seperat rinse cycle (moving from “rinse 1” to “starting” and then “rinse 1” again.

    the mechine spins ok.

also may be help full to know that the description of the repeating and dispaly has been provided by the customer as i have not yet had the machine in the workshop.

there is no damage to the motor and the brushes were only replaces as where low but not arcing.

the door seal was badly damaged and could have easily leaked down the front onto the element.

trying to avoid writing off as a pcb fault. also as ever customer is under the impression that was ok before we repaired it (but also before the door boot was ripped).

    any help would be grate

Time to megger the heater methinks, low insulation on heater on this machine can throw up spurious faults such as ‘check outlet pipes’ even when pump and hose are perfect.

Often caused by the drum support failing and scarring the heater but your leak may have done some damage.

Door boot split may have leaked onto control panel more likely. Verdigris and dampness on PCB the result. Cleaning up with switch cleaner may be just “grate” 😉
