    Hi
Having spent the afternoon trying to get my Siemens SN26M253GB dishwasher to drain I have established that the small black non return valve at the end of the outlet pipe that connects to the sink is the problem (new sink, valve damaged when reconnected I suspect). If I remove the valve completely the dishwasher drains no problem. Can I do this?
    Thanks
    Kate

Thanks for the quick response. To clarify, is there any risk of damage to the dishwasher if water does flow back from the sink waste pipe into the dishwasher? I have had a quick test and I think the chance of this happening are minimal unless the ubend on the sink gets blocked.

The dishwasher itself incorporates a non return valve on the drain. It is almost impossible for drain waste to return to the dishwasher because of this feature.
