    Hello all (first ever post!)

We have an Ariston LSV 66 dishwasher.

Until recently it was working very well.

It has since stopped washing and the element inside gets hot and produces smoke. This I think is due to a lack of water getting into the machine.

However I see water is actually getting into the machine (not much but I don’t know what a normal volume would be) and it drains. What it doesn’t do is put enough in/pump into the arms to wash.

Could it be the recirculation pump/motor or might it be something else?

    Is it straight forward fix…..

If I need to post more details please say.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Regards

Sounds like the main circulation motor has failed, rather expensive repair.

    Thanks for the reply!

I’ve just read another Ariston thread (not filling but draining) and the machine does make a droning noise as well! Could it be the inlet valve ‘partially’ working?

Ie could it take in some water then just stop?

I’m guessing that if it is the main circulation motor then it would better to buy a new machine!

You could always test by adding some more water with a kettle, however the droning noise is likley to be a siezed motor. Part around £100.00 and as it is basically a cheap Indesit then possibly not a viable repair. 🙁
