ParticipantI have a problem with a Zanussi washer dryer as follows :-
ZANUSSI JETSYSTEM 1200 WASHER DRYER
MODEL No. WDJ 1285/B
PRODUCT No. 914659001
SERIAL No. 21700235
TYPE No. P6397125NOTE: Unfortunately, this machine does not have a digital display and does not have LED’s (except for one power on/off) which could have been used to communicate the results of a diagnotic mode program.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION
One day after I attempted to spin dry a particularly heavy load the drum refused to move and from that time on no sound has ever been heard from the motor and from that time on there has never been any agitation/spinning movement from the drum.
Everything else still works perfectly. That is,
Power ON/Switch ON is OK,
Opening/closing door is OK
Filling is OK
Clicking through washing program cycles is OK,
Pumping out/Emptying is OK.Unfortunately, there is never any sound from the motor and drum never moves.
When I manually move the drum with my hand the drum moves
around smoothly with no sound of any bearing damage. The drum belt is not broken or damaged and is of sufficient tightness.
I cleaned the ‘Drain Filter’ thoroughly with no change.
I ensured all washing machine hoses were straight.
I ran through a number of hot water wash cycles to clean the machine with no change.
I replaced the motor brushes with new ones with no change.
I then replaced the whole SOLE motor with another SOLE motor of identical spec(second hand) with no change.
I then replaced the SOLE motor with another SOLE motor of identical spec(brand new) with no change.
CURRENT IDEAS
I have recently read that it may be possible to simply perform a “MASTER RESET” of the machine. Unfortunately, I do not know how to do this on my machine.
I tried the generic solution of switching power on followed by opening and closing the door 6 times in 12 seconds with no success.
I have the Instruction Booklet which came with the machine, but the troubleshooting section (page 28) only suggests cleaning the filter and straightening the hose out which I have already tried without success.
Does someone have a copy of the Service Manual ?
Could there be a fuse internal to the machine which has blown ?
Does someone know how to perform a “MASTER RESET” of this type of machine ?
Does anybody have any ideas ?
Any help or advice will be very much appreciated.

Sounds like it could be the pcb card located at the base of the machine, inside a plastic box!
I not sure but it appears its no longer available, but check for dry joints first.HTH

Thanks Steven,
I never noticed the plastic box before and did not realise it consealed a pcb!
I have just completed a successful tug-of-war, gently wiggling and giggling the plastic box, I have managed to release the plastic trident holding the plastic box to the machine.
On one side of the pcb it says :-
428535730-12409530/2-T65 13-92
On the reverse (solder) side of the pcb it says :-
PROCOND ELETTRONICA 356037602
On initial inspection I cannot see any obvious dry joints. However, I will get my solder kit out to redo some of the joints.
Even though you have said the pcb is probably not made anymore I will also search the internet just in case someone has a replacement new or second hand one.
Thanks again for the advice.
