    Lately, my washing machine Hotpoint WMA54 switches off completely in the middle of a wash, all lights go off. After a period of time, sometimes a few hours, the power comes back on. The problem does not occur each time but recently the frequecy of occurrence has increased. Is this a Power/Program problem? Any help will be appreciated.

    First thing to do is try it in a different wall socket if possible, closely inspect the plug at the same time.
