ParticipantNot a heavy user, but need reliability if possible
Have narrowed it down to two
1. Bosch Exxcel WAQ28461GB, 1400 spin, 8Kg load.
2. Hotpoint AQ113D697E 1600 spin, 11Kg load.
Any advice welcome.

Hi
In a two horse race I’d pick the Bosch everytime. Much better engineered and a two year warranty to boot.
HTH 🙂

Just thought I’d add my two pennys worth to this as I bought the Bosch Exxcel8 a year ago and think it’s the bees knees, I absolutely love it 😀 Think I sometimes go overboard researching things like this but it was well worth the effort 😉 .
The instructions you get with it aren’t great (pants really) but play around with the buttons for half an hour and you soon twig – it’s not rocket science 🙂 I’d write a simpler user instruction but I wouldn’t know where/how to post it on the internet.
It’s certainly sufficient for a family of 4; and has certainly more than halved the number of washes I do in a week. My previous machines was a washer/dryer so because of the smaller drum, I was washing virtually every day.
I wouldn’t bother looking for a higher spin than 1400 because it just leaves clothes/bedding sooo creased up it’s that much harder to iron – believe me, I’ve learn’t the hard way. Fortunately you can reduce the spin cycle to whatever you want it.
I also like the option of being able to stop it to pop in the elusive item that managed to escape the basket; surprisingly it does have many useful settings for wash cycles. It even beeps intermittently at the end of a cycle for a time so you don’t forget about it.
No build-up of soap powder/scum underneath the draw (as with previous) and no nooks or cranny’s for mould/mildew to build up in there either – so easy to clean. Well worth the money spent. 😀
