ParticipantGrrr, bloody Hotpoint.
Called because machine didn`t pump out, customer drained machine by opening the filter….doh! Went there today to have a look but couldn`t get the sod to fill up. pump works ok-tested with 2 sauce pans of h20. No fault codes show up either, valves groovy,h2o to machine. Heater o/circuit but wired a new heater in just to test, still no fill. Is there something really weird with this new stuff I`m obviously missing? Ideas anyone please-electronic blue coloured p/swt-impossible to test really they don`t go click- cause of heater failure! Instruction booklet not available but found it on web tonight though totally useless!September 23, 2013 at 11:35 pm #401672Hollytree_Technical

Did you get to the bottom of this?
I had exactly the same problem on a WMPF843, but I had no replies to my post.
The customer ended up chucking the machine on a skip, so I never resolved it. It would be interesting to know if you cured it

the blue coloured pressure switches are called linear pressure switches, they are an absolute nightmare to reset the link posted above does solve the problem but it takes patience and perserverance 🙁
motor faults or faults with wiring at/around motor can also cause funny faults
1 other cracker i came across is a broken wire at the dryer ntc causing a no drain!! dont ask me why tho 🙂

Well thanks to all. In the end they called out Hotpoint because under the 5 years warranty on parts. Sorry but that is all I know. I normally won`t touch this modern stuff and deal with old machines of which there is still enough to keep me going, at the prices I charge, until I semi retire in 5 years time. I have to say that I feel totally worried about the state of affairs for 20,30,40 somethings in this trade today, the stuff is basically crap.Might as well buy a Vestet machine run it for 3 years and scrap it, keep it in the garage for spares and buy another and use the original for spares for the new one to be honest compared to Indesit and Hotpoint tosh. Thanks for responding Gentlemen.

Very common that when they f05 the module just won’t reset once the blockage has been removed. The problem tends to happen the the machine is drained down manually when off, the program gets stuck pumping out and just won’t move on
Only way Iv found past it is reprogramming the module

Hi madangler1. “Only way I`ve found in the past it is reprogramming the module” which as far as I know is what had to happen with this machine as far as I can gather, pain in the butt.So now you have the absurd situation that you check your filter as they tell you to, and you may or may not depending on whether it is a full moon that night be able to use the machine unless you, bugger about filling it with water and perhaps removing the p/swt pipe and refitting it or give up and call out hotpoint to programme the board at 100 a shot, am I reading this right? If so,put this on the public forum and let this one role and to every consumer organization because it is just a bloody bad joke..
