just a word of warning to all those who fear thier engineers will be poached by bigger companys offering better pay etc.
Comet are planning to open a new concept service centre in the wendsfield area and apparently are looking to employ a further 24 yes 24 white goods engineers.
Which plans to be up and running by april 05 limited brands to start with, so all those getting cotract work from comet will possibly loose out as they intend to be all brand by august 05 if i hear anything else i will let you know.
Just great! Would someone please tell them to try and poach BG or Merloni engineers! 😆

On the upside there is an interesting idea for that will be on the agenda for Sibson on recruitment and training. 😉

what goes around comes around! its obviously the time to close all small depots and open one big one. bsh are doing the same thing. new sevice centre opening in kettering in march with the closure of all depots other than the call centres and head office at m/k. agood majority of there engineers are not realishing the prospect. perhaps there might be some poaching to be had?

Just to add to this thread – I noticed a large banner today outside the Comet Service Centre in Watford advertising for Domestic Appliance Engineers.
